INAUGURAL MEETING OF THE SAVE PENTNEY ACTION GROUP.
Held at Falgate Farm, Pentney, on 23rd April 2008 at 7:30pm.
Those present: Frances Bligh, Kevin Stonebanks, Norman Sharp, Cliff Smalley, Marian
Storey. Sam Knox attended as publicity officer and apologies were received from
Sam Thorn and Tony Thacker.
1. Composition of Committee.
Discussion of skills and areas of expertise.
2. Appointment of Chairman and Secretary.
Cliff Smalley to serve as Chairman and Marian Storey to serve as Secretary.
3. Sam Knox attends as publicity officer.
4. Timescale.
Discussion of the time before initial decision on planning application are made.
It was noted that only 3-4 months were available to establish policies. We discussed
specific mineral site allocations with NCC decisions expected in November/December
2008.
5. Maps.
We agreed that the only map we could use is the one shown on p.123 of the blue
book. Frances Bligh and Sam Knox said they could provide local maps e.g. for boundaries
and waterways.
6. Strategy.
To prevent the proposed quarry MIN93 from being approved. Individuals to be appointed
as fact finders in subjects relating to their individual skills and knowledge.
7. Future Meetings.
It was agred to call meetings as and when required with Monday being teh preferred
day.
